March Madness

OK, so that was the title to make you think this was about basketball and get your attention, but it's really not....something much more exciting....our lives during the last few months! Wow, mommy has really slacked on reminding me to update our blog. Needless to say it has been a very busy winter.

In December, we enjoyed a long trip to California during winter break. We had so much fun playing with our cousin Jessica, hanging out with Aunt Sarah, climbing on Uncle Jeff, and celebrating Hanukkah with Grammy, Pop-Pop, Uncle Darryl the Great, Uncle Jude Boyfriend and Aunt Marilynn and Uncle Don. Cass and I even had our own menorahs to light. No one was injured during the blessing.

The three cousins may have been a little crazy at times, but we had such a blast! We can't wait to get back together again in May, when we all go to Hawaii. Jessica likes to play my tummy like a drum. She is so silly!

Also during our trip we were so lucky because we got to go see the Nutcracker Ballet in San Jose. We loved getting dressed up and even sat through the whole thing (for the most part). In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we have been creating our own performances at home for a grand audience of ALL of our stuffed animals. We have some pretty sweet moves and love to dance and sometimes sing.

Sometimes we put on our special princess dresses and have dance parties in the kitchen or become super heroes. I like to call myself Isabelle, Princess of the Sky and I shoot comets and hail at the bad guys. Cassidy is Princess of Fire and she shoots lava out of her hands, but the controls to turn it off and on are on her feet.

In January, Cassidy and I had our tap and ballet recital at the Little Gym. I sported leg warmers and a tiara, and we both looked so posh (my new favorite word) in our costumes. Grammy was able to be there for the performance.

I am really starting to get brave on the balance beam. We have been taking dance for several years now and have decided that we need a little break. We are now taking swimming lessons twice a week with our babysitters who are both life guards. Swimming has been so much fun! We both really improved since last year. Cassidy goes down the big slide and I am starting to swim a sort of combination free-style/breast stroke. We are quite the water babies and argue with mommy whenever it is time to get out of the pool.
Also in January, I celebrated my 6th birthday. I had quite the bash at my house! It was a princess tea party complete with manicures from my babysitter Valerie (also one of my swim coaches).

We celebrated on my actual birthday at Red Robin where all of the waiters sang to me. I was a little embarrassed but enjoyed the free Sundae.

For us, February was fairly uneventful, but Mommy seemed to be pretty stressed out and busy with her new business and other things that we were told was adult stuff. She has also been taking a few marketing classes and doing a lot of networking. We had a really mild winter and were able to play outside a lot. We have also had lots of playdates with friends from school. I even had my first sleepover at my friend Panni's house.

There was a one-day blizzard in March, which cancelled school for two days and now Cass and I are on Spring Break. Grammy and Pop-Pop are visiting, which is always fun. Mommy seems to be a little more relaxed now but is still trying to balance working from home and having Cassidy there as well.

So, that is the latest. Hopefully there wont be so much time between blogs. We will try to be better about keeping you informed on the latest news from our exciting lives. Happy Spring!!!

To get you caught up....

Since our mom thinks she's so technologically advanced and created a blog for her business, we figured it was about time we had our own way to keeping everyone updated on our incredibly exciting lives. Of course Cassidy is a bit of a crazy girl when it comes to the computer, so she'll have some input, but mostly I (Isabelle) will be doing most of the writing. Speaking of which, I am reading and writing everyday in Kindergarten and at home and where ever I can. I enjoy being able to read books to my sister at bedtime. I absolutely love school and can't get enough of learning (yes, I know it sounds a bit nerdy, but I love it!). I've made a lot of great friends and am starting to plan for my 6th birthday party in January. I'm going to have a princess tea party with a few of my closest friends.

Cassidy is continuing pre-school at the Boulder, JCC two days a week and also goes to an in-home daycare with another 3 year old girl (Holly) on the other days when mommy is subbing or working at Williams-Sonoma or doing something with her two home-based business. To be honest, I don't know what she's doing half of the time; its too hard to keep up.

We both are doing lots of art projects at home and are so happy that we finally got some snow! I just lost my 7th, yes 7th, tooth this week and the tooth fairy (much to my hesitation of letting a strange lady into my room in the middle of the night, who wont even let me see her) brought me a pack of gum and a dollar. I'm thinking it might be safest in my piggy bank these days, but maybe I'll consider a toy purchase soon.

We are going to California to visit Grammy and Pop for x-mas break. We are so excited to also see our little cousin, Jessica and Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jeff. We just found out that Aunt Marilynn and Uncle Don, Uncle Jude Boyfriend, and Uncle Darryl the Great will also be there around Christmas! Yay!!! We can't wait to show off how much we have grown, and of course my new stylish hair-cut.

We'll try to keep this blog updated every month, but its hard with our busy schedules. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!
